Certain persons, other than the Lord Mayor, Kecorder,
and Seneschals of the Liberties of St. Sepulchers, Thomas-
Court, and Donore, have administered the oath of fidelity
and granted certificates to many inhabitants lately in
restraint. These certificates are invalid and ineftectual, and
no one but these officers is to tender the oath, on peril.

Many artillery and transport horses have been stolen or
have strayed. They are to be returned to the sheriffs of the
county within twenty-five days, taking a receipt; 10s. each
will be paid on receipt; 30s. reward for the recovery of each
horse after twenty-five days. The marks, size, and condition
of each horse to be noted, and sent by the collector of
customs who pays the reward to John Davis, Secretary of
the Lords Justices. Any one detaining wagons belonging
to stores to be prosecuted.

No. 1174, q.v. The good result of these is encouraging.
Any parent of a rebel appearing before 10 February next,
taking the oath of fidelity, and entering into recognizances
not to correspond with rebels, but to appear within ten days
of summons, will be taken under protection.

William Eobinson, John Stone, Edward Corker, John
South, and William Molyneux, or any three of them having
been appointed commissioners for the debts of the army, all
persons to whom money is owing by the army should get
their debts certified by the colonel of the regiment and send
in their claims before 1 March to Dublin. All commanding
officers, &c., are to certify bills signed by the soldier or
officer. Where a certificate cannot be obtained notice is to
be given to the agents of the regiments in Dublin to show
cause against paying within twenty days. Colonels, &c., to
return before 1 March a list of all officers and soldiers dead
or removed from their regiments with an account of the
money due to them. Executors, &c., of deceased soldiers
may prove their right in any corporate town, and have their
claim sent up under seal of the town to the commissioners
for accounts. All stores, &c., to be accounted for with
vouchers.

An Irish Koman Catholic gentleman who came to ascer¬
tain the terms that would be granted to the Irish army has
been refused leave to return by some who fight for French
money not the Irish interest. The general is empowered
to grant reasonable terms, not persecuting Irishmen for
their religion, ruining them in their estates, or enslaving
them in their liberty.
