ing the exportation of Corne and Graine out of this
Kingdome of Ireland.

Owing to the unseasonable weather the price of corn is
above that at which it may be exported. No corn is to be
laden into any ship after 1 November for a year on pain of
confiscation of ship and corn ; one-half to informer.

Two mass-houses lately seized are to be turned into Houses
of Correction, one late of Carmelite friars, situate between Cook
St. and Merchant Key, abutting S. with Eobert Eustace,
baker, E. Sir John Brereton, N. Christopher Handcock,
W. Patrick Baathe ; the other in Osmontown, on the E.
side of the street from the N. bridge, near Hamons lane on
the opposite side of the street, and said to belong to the late
Eichard Quin, merchant. All begging scholar^, idlers, fortune¬
tellers, and able-bodied idlers to be committed to these
Houses of Correction. Overseers of the poor to be appointed
in every parish who are to set poor people and their children
to work, providing a stock of material for them, and money
for the relief of impotent persons, apprenticeship, &c. Over¬
seers to meet once a month. Children to be apprenticed to
24 years of age (females, 21 or marriage). Eecovery of poor
rates by commitment to gaol and distress on goods. Privy
Councillors to be assessed by the Council.

AND COUNCELL. A Proclamation concern¬
ing the payments of 12. pence in the pound, of all
merchandizes imported and exported out the Citties
of Dublin, and Waterford, and the Townes of Drog-
heda and Gallway by the Freemen of the said Citties
and Townes.

Cites Act 15 Hen. VII Ire. for poundage of Is. in the pound
on all exports and imports of Ireland, not to be prejudicial
to any Freeman of Dublin, Waterford, and Drogheda, the
exemption being also claimed by Galway under charter. By
letters patent 27 Nov. [1633] all goods, without exception,
are to pay this impost of \2d. in the pound, the exemptions
being annulled. All goods to pass through the customs.
This to be proclaimed.

27 DECEMBER.—BY THE LORD DEPUTY
AND COUNCELL. A Proclamation concern¬
ing the payment of his Maiesties Rents and Revenues
halfe yearely into his Maiesties Exchequer in Easter
and Michaelmasse Tearmes, and declaring that from
henceforward there shalbe no assignment given of
any Moneies payable to his Maiesties use.

As the surplus of the revenue, after ordinary charges are
met, is to be devoted to the army, and tenants and farmours
have been so backward in payments, the Lords Justices have
been compelled to grant assignations on the revenue. This
will cease. All rents, &c., must be brought into the Ex¬
chequer in specie at the assigned times, in default pur¬
suivants will be sent to arrest them for contempt of this
proclamation at a cost of 2d. per mile each way. In further
default soldiers will be quartered on them in sufficient
numbers. This to be proclaimed in shire-towns, county-
courts, market-towns, and all public places.

the Kings Rates.

In consequence of the excessive dearth of coals, and the
number of persons who claim to exercise the right of buying
them at the king's rates, the Lord Deputy abolishes this
privilege for himself and others. No one is to claim to have
them at less than market rate. The mayor to proclaim this.
