AN DEO-GHEINE.
on 23rd February, Rev. Mr. MadRae to be the
lecturer. A large number of members were enrolled,
and the branch promises to be an enthusiastic one.
Kili.in.—The annual social of the Killin Branch
of An Cbmunn Gaidhealach was held in Killin Public
Hall on 16th February, when a gathering of 150
members was presided oyer by the president, Rev.
G. W. Mackay. After an admirably served! tea had
been provided for those present, an excellent pro¬
gramme was gone through. Rev. Mr. Mackay began
by expressing his pleasure at the good gathering, and
in the course of the evening complimented the
artistes, and particularly those who were taking part
in the programme for the first time. Violin selections
were rendered by a trio, Messrs Wright, Christie,
and MacDiarmid ; duets by Misses MacNaughton and1
Misses MacPherson; solos by Miss J. MacLaren, and
Messrs Maokay, MacLaren, and Walker; readings by
Miss Campbell and Messrs. Hogg and Campbell;
and a “sgeulaohd” by Miss Maggie Stewart. At
the close of the programme, Mr. Campbell, Dalmally,
addressed the meeting in support of Gaelic and gave
iitteresting reminiscences as a Gaelic-speaking
Highlander in Palestine and Egypt. Votes of thanks
to the ladies responsible for the catering and to the
performers were moved by Mr. P. Walker, and a
most successful ceilidh ended with the singing of
“Oidhche mhath leibh.” Misses Christie and
Robertson acted as accompanists.
