The official opening took place at noon on
Wednesday in the Burgh Hall. A repre¬
sentative platform party accompanied the
President, who delivered with his customary
power and acceptance the presidential
address, which we reproduce. The pro¬
ceedings opened with a Gaelic prayer by the
Bev. T. S. MacPherson of Campbeltown.
