an organ to be made so exactly to imitate the hu-
man voice that the diflerence cannot be easily dis-
tinguished. The tremulous tones, as heard in the
Catholic chanting, are admirably imitated. The
organ was built by Moser, now about seventy-five
years of age. I was told that the king of France
lately applied to him to build a similar one, but he
declined, saying he was too old to build another,
and he wished his own city to possess the only
instrument of the kind in the world. No one
allowed to see the organ's interior."
