Through regions remote, in vain do I rove,
And bid the wide ocean Cecure me from love;
O fool, to imagine that ought can fubdue -
A love fo well founded, a paCCion fo true!
O what had my youth with ambition to dol
Why left I Amynta! why broke I my vow!
O give me my fheep, and rny Cheep-hook reftore,
I'll wander from love and Amynta no more.
Alas! 'tis too late at thy fate to repine!
Poor Chepherd! Amynta no more can be thine;
Thy tears are all fruitlefs, thy wifhes are vain; v
The moments neglected return not again.
O what had my youth with ambition to dpi
Why left "T Amynta! why broke T ri^y vow!
O gjyt- me my Cheep, and my Cheep hook reftore,
I'll wander from love and Amynta no. more.'
