live yet not I but Christ liveth in Me50 where the first passage when it Came
to my Mind I thought That I was indeed carnally mind that I had all along
been carnally mind and that had never hitherto been Spiritually mind and I
was perplexed to think that I had been so And I could not say that the Spirit
liveth in Me and I fell into greater darkness than ever till one day when my
distress and darkness was exceeding great and I was spining on My Wheel
These words came into My Mind wt great sweetness & power Thou art a
New Creature51 and then I was made to believe I was no Hypocrite but a new
creature for a light shone into my mind along with these words convincing
& showing me that old things were passed away and all things were become
New And then the thoughts of my Hypocrisy evanished for a Considerable
time but after that I fell into strong convictions of the Evil of Sin one night
in a meeting for prayer and conference in time of the when the 13 Psal and
these words in Ps 41: Gainst thee the only have I sinned52 were sung and I
was at the Point of Crying out but got my Case pretty much concealed from
those in the meeting only my old Experienced acquaintance observed me in
disorder and afterwards asked My Case I told I was under deep convictions
of the Evil of Sin but I durst not altogether doubt of my Interest in Christ
These Convictions continued with me for a Considerable Time and one day

amidst my distress and casting about in my own mind what way I would get
it These words came into my mind wt great Power as in Ps: Thou Hast arm
y’ full of power541 was then made to look to the Power of God for support
& Comfort and shortly after this when when I was in disorder upon the
account of my Sins these words came into my mind with great power Thy
Warefare is accomplished55 and immediatly I was releived from the Burdensome
Sense of My Sins and made to bless & praise God for this seasonable Relief
to my soul56
