To the bishop of Glasgow. Mandate to dispense Robert de Huyston,
layman, to marry anew Alice Cambale, Glasgow diocese. Robert
and Alice were related in the fourth degree of consanguinity but had
been dispensed by Henry, bishop of St Andrews, who claimed to
have special papal powers, and so they had contracted marriage
per verba legitime de presenti, and consummated the marriage. They
had since learned by papal letters that Henry did not have this
power and so they had feared their marriage was invalid; but a
dispensation is to be granted as above and any child already born
of the marriage or born in the future is to be legitimate.
