280 LETTERS OF POPE BENEDICT XIII
exceeding ^20 sterling to a non-resident, even if the archdeaconry
is a dignity or office with cure and the canonry and prebend is
specially reserved to papal disposition. Earlier, mandatory letters had
been sent to the above bishop to summon and examine David de
Seton, then holding the canonry, prebend and archdeaconry, on
charges brought by the said John, to the effect that David had
absented himself from the said church for a long time, had neglected
the cure, had associated himself with notorious schismatics without
reasonable cause, and laying aside the tonsure, had worn lay clothes;
and if these charges were proven David was to be deprived of the
said benefice, which is then to be provided as above to John not¬
withstanding that he is known to hold a canonry and prebend of
Aberdeen.

ing to Peter Martin de Misquia, holding a perpetual benefice in the
parish churches of Sancte Matre de Mimigay and Sancte Matre de
Alayia, Calahorra diocese, the late Martin Fernandi de Bhula who
had held perpetual portions in the parish churches of Beate Marie
and St John the Apostle and Evangelist of Salvaterra, said diocese,
Didacus, bishop of Calahorra, and Martin Martin, calling himself
clerk, said diocese.]

To the dean of Brechin, the archdeacon of Dunkeld and the official
of St Andrews. Mandate to collate Henry de Ogilvy, clerk, St
Andrews diocese, lic.art., recently dispensed of a defect of birth
as the son of an unmarried knight or baron and an unmarried
viscountess, to be promoted to all holy orders and to hold two
benefices, even if one is a canonry and prebend in a cathedral church
