and Gilbert who were despoiling the church and they were forced
to make restitution to Celestine. Gilbert, however, had petitioned
that Celestine had been lawfully deprived and so he is to be sum¬
moned and examined and if the truth is as above he is to be finally
deprived of the church which is then to be annexed and united to
the canonry and prebend of Gilbert, notwithstanding he is known
to hold the parish church of St Columba de Glascard, Argyll diocese,
value not exceeding -£11 sterling to a non-resident. If Gilbert by
virtue of this mandate is peacefully assecuted to the said church of
St Molvusse, the cure of the church is to be in the hands of a vicar
appointed by papal authority who is to have an adequate provision
to support himself and pay episcopal and other dues.

priest, Dunkeld diocese, b.dec., to the perpetual vicarage of the
parish church of Kilgore, St Andrews diocese, value not exceeding
j£i6 sterling to a non-resident, wont to be served by secular clerks,
and which has been unlawfully detained by James Bisset, canon and
prior of the church of St Andrew, os a.1

To the bishop of St Andrews. Mandate to dispense the nobleman
Adam de Hepburn, doncel, lord of Halys, to marry Janet de
Borthwyke, daughter of the nobleman Sir William de Borthwyke,
notwithstanding their being related in the third and fourth degrees
of consanguinity; and they are held to pay a certain sum of money
at the discretion of the mandatory to a holy place or to the poor of
Christ.
