John Medicos,1 unlawfully detained by a certain John de Merton for
more than eight years, although William de Camera, papal familiar,
by virtue of papal letters had claimed the said canonry and prebend
within the lawful time; but they are still vacant because another
canonry and prebend of Glasgow2 has been collated to William de
Camera by ordinary authority. William de Govan is to hold the said
canonry and prebend whether vacant as above, or vacant because
Symon de Mandavilla pretended to hold them by papal letters but
was then provided by apostolic authority to the archdeaconry of
Glasgow and a prebend annexed to it then vacant, or in any other
way; notwithstanding that he is known to hold a canonry and pre¬
bend in the church of Moray, and the perpetual vicarage of Muncton,
said diocese [Glasgow], combined value to a non-resident not exceed-
in ^20 sterling, and has been reserved a benefice with or without
cure in the gift of the bishop and chapter of Moray.
Perpignan, Elne diocese, 14 Kal. Feb., anno 15; expedited, 2 Non.
Dec., anno 16 [4 Dec., 1409].

To William Stephani, rector of the parish church of Eassie, St
Andrews diocese. William, constituted priest, had had some goods
stolen by a certain Thomas Leman, a layman, in conjunction with
Walter dc Halibrecton and some others, and William later meeting
Thomas had struck him a blow on the head from which he had died
within 30 days; but he had been dispensed to minister, to hold the
above parish church and also to hold any other compatible benefice
canonically conferred, with all stain and inhability abolished. This
dispensation is confirmed and William is moreover given the right to
hold any canonically conferred dignity even if major, and any
parsonage, perpetual vicarage or any office in a cathedral or collegiate
church elective or non-elective without any further mention of his
crime being made.
