curia into the hands of Mathew, bishop of Glasgow, who had
received the resignations by ordinary authority and by the same
authority had provided John to the canonry and prebend and
William to the archdeaconry. John had peacefully possessed the
canonry and prebend, but for certain causes had doubted the validity
of his provision and he had sought confirmation of his rights which
is granted as above, notwithstanding that he is known to hold the
said parish church, and that recently Henry, bishop of St Andrews,
having been granted faculty to appoint to several benefices at his
disposal, has reserved to John a benefice with or without cure.

To the bishop of St Andrews. Mandate to provide John de Dry den,
monk ofjeddworth, o s A, priest, to the abbacy of the said monastery,
a benefice reserved to papal provision under Robert, late abbot, on
whose death outside the curia the convent had elected John, who
had consented to the election. Mathew, bishop of Glasgow, had con¬
secrated him by ordinary authority and John peacefully possessed
the monastery; but later hearing of the reservation he appealed to
the pope who annulled the election and the subsequent events, but
to prevent a long harmful vacancy grants the said provision. The
mandatory is to consecrate John as abbot and receive from him the
oath of fealty, which is then to be sent by letters patent under John’s
seal to the pope by the next envoy; but without prejudice to the
rights of the bishop of Glasgow to whom the monastery is known
to be subject.

Kilbethcock, Aberdeen diocese, who have been plagued by the
oppressions of one called Kechranni, so that anyone of any grade,
