To the provost of Linclouden, Glasgow diocese. Mandate to induct
William de Medilmast, perpetual vicar of Durisdeer, Glasgow
diocese, to a benefice of the type wont to be assigned to secular
clergy, to the value of 25 merks sterling if with cure, and of 18 merks
if without, in the gift of the abbot and convent of Kelso, provided
William or his procurator accepts it within one month of notifica¬
tion, and notwithstanding that he holds the above parish church
which, however, on his peaceful assecution to a benefice with cure
by virtue of these letters he is held to demit.

To the bishop of St Andrews. Mandate to examine William
Stephani, rector of the parish church of Essy, St Andrews diocese,
on a charge of murdering a certain Thomas Lemman, inhabitant
of Northberuyk, St Andrews diocese, brought against him by
Robert de Ferny, clerk, St Andrews diocese, b.u.j., and if the
charge is proven William is to be deprived of the church.

To the bishop of St Andrews. Mandate that if William Stephani,
rector of the parish church of Essy, St Andrews diocese, is deprived
of the said church because of the charge of murder brought against
him by Robert de Ferny, clerk, St Andrews diocese, b.u.j., [as in
Reg Aven 326, 460], then Robert is to be collated to Essy, value
not exceeding 20 merks silver to a resident, notwithstanding his
defect of birth as the son of a married man and an unmarried woman
from which he has been dispensed, and that he is litigating at the
curia over the church of Lynlichou, St Andrews diocese; but if
Robert should obtain Essy and in the meanwhile he is also collated
to Lynlichou, then he is held to demit Lynlichou.
