To the abbot of Dunfermline. Mandate to reserve to Andrew de
Lamli, priest, St Andrews diocese, recently dispensed of a defect of
birth as the son of a married man and an unmarried woman, to be
promoted to all holy orders and to hold a benefice in the gift of the
bishop of St Andrews and the prior and chapter of St Andrews, to
the value of 25 merks sterling if with cure, and to the value of 18
merks sterling if without cure.1

To the bishop of St Andrews. Mandate to dispense the nobleman
Alexander Frysel, doncel, to marry Margaret, daughter of the
nobleman, John de Douglas, doncel, and to absolve them of any
inhability following their contracting marriage per verba legitime de
presenti and living together in ignorance of the fact that John Frysel,
father of Alexander, had been the godfather of Margaret. On finding
this out they had sought a dispensation to avoid the grave scandal
of a divorce. Before Alexander and Margaret are dispensed to marry,
however, they are to pay alms to some holy place or to the poor of
Christ at the discretion of the ordinary.

kenneth, os A. Indult is granted to the abbot and his successors to
use mitre, ring and other pontificals and to give solemn blessing in
