LETTERS OF POPE BENEDICT XIII
a priest, which he was not at that time, and he had, therefore, sought
confirmation which is granted as above; but on peaceful assecution
to Ferrin the said letters of reservation are to become invalid.

To the bishop of Dunkeld. Mandate to restore to William Long,
rector of the parish church of Finenyn, Brechin diocese, the teinds
of the fruits and increases from lands inside certain limits of the
parish of the said church, held by William’s predecessor, and un¬
lawfully detained to the grave hurt of William and his church, by
John, abbot of Arbroath, who holds the parish church of Kermor
in proprios usus, Henry de Dunbver, perpetual vicar of the said
church, and Thomas Stewart and Malcoem de Aula, claiming to be
rectors of Roskolvy and Tanadas respectively.

To Richard Knight, rector of the parish church of St Tunadoti,1
Dunblane diocese. Confirmation of papal letters reserving Richard a
benefice, with or without cure, of the type wont to be assigned to
secular clerks, in the gift of the bishop and chapter of St Andrews,
originally given on 3 Id. Oct., anno 1 [13 Oct., 1394],2 under the
seal of Ferdinand, cardinal priest of the Basilica of the Twelve
Apostles, Rome, in which it had been wrongly stated that Richard
was a priest; and the letters are to be valid as if at the time of the
letters Richard had been a priest.

Fingon, abbot of Hy, Sodor diocese, and to hear charges brought
against him by John Goffredi, prior claustral of the monastery, to
