LETTERS OF POPE BENEDICT XIII

of Dunlop by papal authority, notwithstanding that he holds the
said church of Cummirtreis which he is to demit, and that he has
also the reservation of a canonry and prebend in the church of
Aberdeen.1

Andrews, Grenoble. Mandate to confirm William de Tayn, clerk,
Ross diocese, in possession of the chancellorship of Ross, a non-major
elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding ^10 old sterling to
a non-resident, vacant by the death outside the curia of Ysaac de
Monro, late chancellor, as William had doubted the validity of his
presentation and institution by Alexander, bishop of Ross.

Ad perpetuam rei memoriam. Confirmation of an earlier grant to the
abbot and convent of Melrose, o.cist., of the parish church of
Magna Caveris, Glasgow diocese, which they were to have on the
cession by or death of its present rector, and as subsequently the
abbot and monastery had peacefully possessed the church they had
thereupon sought confirmation of their possession.
