Alexander, bishop of Ross, had provided John by ordinary authority
and John had possessed them peacably for more than a year, but
later he doubted the validity of his provision. After examination of
the case the abbot is to collate John to the canonry, prebend and
subdeanery, which is a simple office, vacant as above or vacant
because of the provision of the late William de Dygvale, former
sub-dean, to the deanery of Ross.

b.leg. Lately the pope reserved to him any benefice in St Andrews
or Glasgow dioceses vacant before 22 Sept., 1395. [See p 8.] No
such vacancy has occurred and the reservation is extended to any
benefice outside the St Andrews or Glasgow dioceses.

the said vicarage Andrew de Klentre, canon in the church of Ross
and chaplain of St Nicholas of Aberdeen, which chaplaincy he is
to demit.
