To the abbot of Blessed Mary of Saddell, Argyll diocese, the pre¬
centor of Argyll, and Nigel Cristini, canon of Argyll. Mandate to
collate Nigel Cambel of noble birth, in deacons orders, rector of
the parish church of St Katani, Argyll diocese, to the archdeaconry
of Argyll, a non-elective, non-major dignity with cure, value 40
merks sterling as a reserved benefice. John Leche, former arch¬
deacon, had freely resigned the archdeaconry at the curia through
his procurator John Birtan, rector of the parish church of Broys,
Langres diocese, into the hands of John, bishop of Amiens, and Cle¬
ment vii had provided the archdeaconry to Conghan Machabei,
priest, Argyll diocese, but Nigel had claimed that money had been
paid by Conghan to John to effect the resignation and therefore
Conghan’s possession is invalid. John and Conghan are to be sum¬
moned and if this is proven then Conghan is to be deprived of the
archdeaconry to which Nigel is to be collated as above, notwith¬
standing his defect of age as he is twenty two years old, and that he
is known to hold the said parish church which, however, on his
peaceful assecution to the archdeaconry he is held to demit.

collate Duncan Martini, priest, Argyll diocese, to the parish church
of St Brigid in Lorn, said diocese, value not exceeding 12 merks
sterling, vacant because the former rector Morice Johannis to whom
the church had been canonically provided, had held it for more
than a year without being raised to the priesthood and without a
