Urmston, Archibald George Brabazon, D.S.O. Ex-Lecturer in
Military Subjects. (S.) Brevet Lieut.-Col., 15th The Royal Scots.
In command 52nd Bn. Trng. Res. \*y
Awarded the Distinguished Service Order, 1st January 1917. Com-
manded the 15th Royal Scots from January 1915 to the middle of July
1916. The discipline, efficiency, and interior economy of this battalion
was of a very high order ; it led the attack on the 1st July, attaining its
objective, and maintained itself for 3 days with its left flank in the air.
Owing to reasons of health Lt.-Col. Urmston was transferred to the Home
Establishment in the middle of July 1916.
Mentioned in Sir D. Haig's Despatches, 4th January 1917.
