NEIL MACLEAN, Private, 2nd Seaforth Highlanders;
son of Widow Maclean, 8b Breasclet; killed in action at
Neuve Chapelle on 9th May, 1915. Aged 22 years. His
brothers, John and Malcolm, are Royal Naval Reservists.
DONALD MACLEAN, Private, 3rd Seaforth High-
landers ; son of Mr John Maclean, 6 Back, Stornoway ;
killed in action at Neuve Chapelle on 9th May, 1915. Aged
20 years. Mr Maclean has other three sons serving — •
Murdo, Roderick, and Donald — all in the Royal Naval
Reserve. Roderick was on H.M.S. " Carmania " at the
sinking of the German armed liner, " Cap Trafalgar."
MALCOLM MACIVER, Private, 2nd Seaforth High-
landers ; son of Mr Donald Maciver, 14b Callanish ; killed
in action at Ypres on 9th May, 1915. Aged 34 years.
ANGUS MACLEOD, Lance-Corporal, 3rd Seaforths;
son of Mr Peter Macleod, 12 Tong ; killed in action on 9th
May, 1915. Aged 18 years. His brother John is a Private
in the Canadian Contingent.
DONALD MACLEOD, Private, 1st Seaforth High-
landers • son of Mr John Macleod, 3T Lower Bayble ; killed
in action at Hill 60 on 9th May, 1915. Aged 20 years.
JOHN MACLEOD, Corporal, 1st Seaforth Highlanders;
son of Mr Allan Macleod, Lower Bayble ; killed in action
in France on 9th May, 1915. Aged 27 years. He served
six years with the Seaforths in India, and came to France
with the first of the Indian Expeditionary Force.
MALCOLM MACLEOD, Sergeant, 2nd Seaforth High-
landers : son of Mrs Donald Macleod, 4 Tolsta-Chaolis ;
killed in action at Festubert on 9th May, 1915. Aged 38
years. Sergeant Macleod went through the South African
Campaign, and shortly after the conclusion of peace there
was drafted to the North-West Frontier of India, where
also he saw active service. For a year or two previous to
the outbreak of the present war he was stationed at Fort-
