killed near Cambrai, Nov. 23rd, 1917. Son of William and Margaret Black, Forteath Avenue,

Inverness, 4th July, 1918 ; served in France ; died in hospital in France, 29th Oct., 1918.

BLAIR, John W. Lieut., i/6th Seaforth Highlanders; born at Nethy Bridge, Inverness-shire,
16th July, 1892, residing in Carron, Morayshire, since June, 1899 ; joined at Archiestown,
March, 1910, commissioned 5th August, 1915 (T.F.) ; served in France ; wounded 4th July,
1915, wounded and captured, 12th Dec, 1916. Son of William and Elsie Blair, " The Firs,"
Carron, Morayshire. Occupation, bank accountant.
BLAIR, Willtam. No. 31135, Pte., 5th Battn. Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders ; born at
Carr Bridge, Inverness-shire, 17th Oct., 1898, residing in Carron, Morayshire, since seven,
months old ; joined at Nairn, April, 1917 ; served in France ; wounded 30th Oct., 1918, and
died of wounds on 31st Oct., 1918, at No. 64 Casualty Clearing Station, Kezelberg. Son of
William and Elsie Blair, " The Firs," Carron, Morayshire. Occupation, general merchant's
assistant.
BLISS, James. Capt., 6th Seaforth Highlanders ; born at Forres, 26th March, .1887 ; joined at
Forres, May, 1915, received commission, June, 1915 ; served in France ; wounded in head
and ankle at Rouen, 20th May, 1917, and killed while leading his men at St. Julien (3rd Battle
of Ypres), 31st July, 1917 ; awarded Military Cross at the taking of Beaumont Hamel, 13th.
Nov., 1916, and Bar to M.C. at Rouex, May, 1917. Son of John and Christina Malcolm Bliss,
Erne Cottage, Forres. Occupation, assistant traffic agent.
BLISS, Joseph. Lieut., 28th Lushais, Indian Labour Corps ; born at Darnaway, Forres, 26th
Nov., 1868 ; joined at London, Oct., 1917 ; served in France. Son of Thomas and Isabel-
Bliss, Darnaway, Forres.
BLISS, Tom. 2nd Lieut., 6th Seaforth Highlanders ; born at Forres, 28th Sept., 1891 ; joined at
Grove Park, London; received commission in 6th Seaforth Highlanders, June, 1916 ; served
in France ; died of wounds, 23rd Dec, 1916, on the Somme. Son of John and Christina
Malcolm Bliss, Erne Cottage, Forres. Occupation, marine engineer.

BONNYMAN, William. No. 282567, Gnr., 18th New Heavy Battery, R.G.A. ; born at Fochabers,-
28th Nov., 1883 ; joined at Dundee, August, 1915 ; served in France and Salonica ; shrapnel
wound in leg. Son of James Bonnyman, Fochabers, and Mary Ann Craigen, or BonnymaiL
