The words of a language
are either Primitive or De¬
rivative.
A Primitive word is not
derived from any simpler
word than itself in the lan¬
guage ; as, man, just.
A Derivative word is de¬
rived or formed from some
word simpler than itself;
as, manhood, unjust.
