Yrland for evir I haif reffusit,
All wyismen will4 hald me excusit, no
For nevir in land quhair Eriche was vsit,
To dwell had I dellyte.
[Quharfor in Scotland come I heir
With }ow to byde and perseveir,
In Edinburgh quhar is meriast cheir, 115
Plesans, disport and play,
Quhilk is the lampe and A per se
Of this regioun in all degre
Of welefair and of honeste
Renoun and riche aray.] 120
I haif bene formest5 evir in feild,
And now sa lang I haif borne scheild,
That I am crynit6 in for eild
This littill, as ^e may sie.
I haif bene banest vndir the lynd 125
This lang tyme, that nane7 cowld me fynd,
Quhill now with this last eistin8 wynd,
I am cum9 heir perdie.
