[Wallace of Franjce ane gudly leif can tak
[The King hes fe]ne, it wald nocht ellis be
[To Chalmer we]nt, he micht nocht on him fe
[For greit langou]r, quhen Wallace can remufe
[The King to him] kepit kyndnes and Me
[lowellis and gold, his worfchip for to faif, [166 v]
[He bad thame gif] alfmekill as he wald half
[Lordis and Ladyi]s wepit woundir faft
Quhen [Wallace] yare fa tuke his leif and paft [320]
Na ma[n he tuik] bot quhilk he yiddir brocht.
Agane [with him] gude longaveill furth focht
For pan[e or blis,] yat gude knycht left him neuer
For cafe [befell, q]uhill dede maid yame diffeuer
Towa[rt the Slu]ce in gudlie fere paft he
Ane we[fchell g]at and maid him to ye fee
[A]uch[t Schipmen] feyt and gudly wage yame gaif
T[o Scotland fur]e ye firth of tay yai haif
How Wallace come in fcotland agane at ye bat-
tell of Elchok park. Cap. iiii.
UPon th]e nycht Wallace ye land has tane
At Ern]ys mowth and is to elchok gane, [33o]
’ ie gar[t the Schi]p in covert faill away
Sa ou[t of ficht] yai war or it was day
At elc[hok dwe]lt ane Wallace confing deir
That [Craufur]d hecht ye hous quhen yai come neir

Ane m[ow of] corne he biggit yame about
