Under re-vaccination there is a progressive increase noticeable in all districts
but Wun, where there was a decrease of 105 operations.

Re-vaccination is not popular with the people, who will not see the necessity
for repeating the operation. No opportunity is lost of explaining the dangers
of imperfect vaccination, and urging the desirability of all persons undergoing
re-vaccination about the period of puberty.

The percentages of success are slightly lower in each district than in
1888-89, and range from 97.5 in the Amraoti District to 93.1 in Akola.

The percentages of unknown cases show a decrease on last year's figures
except in the Akola District, where they out-number the unsuccessful.

The percentage of unverified cases by vaccinators in this district is 4.4 as
against 2.2 in the previous year; the cause is attributable to inadequate super-
vision owing to physical inability on the part of the Superintendent, whose
health unfits him for the hard and rough work of the Vaccination Department.
Mr. Trimbuk Rao is a capable clerk, and endeavour will be made to transfer
him to some other office.
