            PLAGUE AND DISPENSARIES IN RAJPUTANA.      9

91.  Native States.β€”The total expenditure on hospitals and dispensaries
in Native States of Rajputana rose from R372,397 in 1910 to R377,138 in
1911, which is due to increase under heads "Establishment and Medicine."
Under the Government of India, Foreign Department, letter No. 1658-Est. A.,
dated the 3rd June 1911, the revised grading and maximum scale of pay
suggested in Government of India, Home Department, letter No. 1011β€”1019,
dated the 17th August 1909, was sanctioned for Sub-Assistant Surgeons serving
in Rajputana with effect from the 1st March 1911.

92.  Of the total cost on hospitals and dispensaries in these States R72,125
were expended in Jaipur, R52,357 in Marwar, R42,329 in Bharatpur, R39,840
in Mewar, R39,435 in Kotah, R37,268 in Bikaner, R30,051 in Alwar,
R9,693 in Dholpur, R9,379 in Jhalawar, R6,261 in Karauli, R4,748 in Tonk,
R3,672 in Kishangarh, R3,449 in Banswara, R3,431 in Bundi, R3,361 in
Sirohi, R2,720 in Jaisalmer, R2,501 in Shahpura, R2,235 in Dungarpur,
R2,057 in Partabgarh, and R928 in Kusalgarh.

93.  The average cost of each case treated in Ajmer-Merwara and in the
Native States hospitals and dispensaries was 45 pies and 55 pies respectively,
against 43 pies and 52 pies in 1910.

                              MISSION HOSPITALS.

94.  During the year under report the number of Mission Hospitals in
Rajputana was 8 against 6 in 1910.

95.  The following table shows the total number of in and out-door patients

97. There were 6 Railway dispensaries on the Rajputana-Malwa Railway
within the limits of Rajputana, viz., 1 at Abu Road, 1 at Sojat, 2 at Ajmer,
1 at Phulera, and 1 at Bandikui.
