Inspection of operations.

19. The results of inspection, of the operations of the year, are shown in the follow-
ing table. The last column indicates the proportion

Particulars of vaccination in the various districts, as verified by inspecting officers,
are given in annual statement No. V.

General results of inspection.

20. It is satisfactory to note that the proportion per cent. of successful cases,
actually verified by inspection, has increased in all
the three circles, and varied from 23.15 per cent. in the
2nd circle to 41.92 in the 1st circle, where the example set by Dr. Jameson in carrying
on inspection work with minuteness and vigour is followed by the Deputy and Native
Superintendents under him. The proportion per cent. of successful vaccinations
observed by Deputy Sanitary Commissioners is also satisfactory, and was over 91 in each
circle. There was an increase of 20,121 in the total number of cases examined by the
inspecting staff.
