The apices of both lungs were totally disorganized. In
the left the vomicæ were very large. Liver was of a
pale yellow colour and much enlarged. No other morbid
changes were observed.

This old man died suddenly of collapse after a severe
accession of fever. Miliary tubercles were disseminated
throughout apices of both lungs. Vessels of pia mater
were found gorged with blood.

disease.

In February this man gave up working and about March
he was attacked with articular rheumatism. Aortic
valvular disease was then detected. Before death there
was general anasarca. The membranes were firmly
adherent to the calvarium. Brain was generally softened.
The aortic valves were completely destroyed, being
covered with a hard cretaceous deposit. Both kidneys
were diseased.

lungs.

Was admitted into hospital on the 15th November 1870
with general debility.
Great sub-arachnoid effusion was found after death, and
great anæmia of the brain substance. Pericardium was
adherent to heart. Both lungs were studded with
miliary tubercles, and the base of left lung was gan-
grenous.

Dysentery with anæmia, œdema of limbs, and loss of
appetite were the chief ailments previous to death.
Great serous effusion beneath arachnoid. Apex of left
lung disorganized by tubercular matter. Crude
tubercles were found in right. The whole of the
peritoneum was dotted with innumerable granular
masses. There was no ascites. A few circular ulcers
in large intestines existed.

A low form of fever with enteric symptoms, ending in
coma, caused this woman's death. The cranium
was malformed, a mere shell in thickness. Brain
generally congested. A few lumbrici, which satonine
had failed to expel, were found in the intestinal canal.
