Mr. Marathe was on tour for 37 days, travelled 2,486 miles by
rail and 385 miles by road. Mr. V. N. Kulkarni was on tour for
8 days, travelled 1,036 miles by rail and 24 miles by road. They
inspected 12 Veterinary Dispensaries in 5 districts and visited some
villages in connection with the Village Uplift Scheme.

                  I.––VETERINARY INSTRUCTION.

3. Mr. V. R. Phadke, G.B.V.C., J.P., held charge of his
appointment as Principal of the College during the whole of
the year under report. Mr. K. B. Nair, Assistant Professor, who
returned from the Continent, after long leave, for about 15 months,
resumed his duties from the 1st of December 1936 and continued
in his appointment for the rest of the year. The remainder of the
staff remained unchanged and continued throughout the year with
the exception of Mr. K. B. S. Aiyar, the Lecturer, who was
deputed to undergo a Post Graduate Refresher course at Muktesar
for a period of about three months.

4.  The Students.—There were 103 students' names on the rolls
on the 1st of April 1936. The Annual Professional examinations
were held in April. One hundred students appeared of whom
55 passed successfully. Of these, 11 who passed the Final Year
(Diploma) examination, left the College and 13 discontinued the
course on having failed or for other reasons. The remaining
79 students remained under instruction.

5.  In June 1936, 38 new students were admitted to Class A, and
1 to Class B. There were thus 118 students on the rolls at the
commencement of the first term. Of these, 4 left subsequently
during the course of the year, 3 for reason of health and 1 on
account of financial difficulties. One student left on passing the
Supplementary Final Year (Diploma) examination held in October.
There were thus 113 students at the College at the end of the year
as against 103 at the commencement.

Of the 39 new students admitted, 31 were natives of the Bombay
Presidency, 2 from Sind, 1 from the Central India, 4 from
Rajputana and one from Federated Malay States. One had
passed the B.Ag. examination, 1 the Inter Science, 18 First Year
Arts, 1 Senior Cambridge and 18 Matriculation or the School
Leaving Certificate examination.

6.  The results of the Annual examinations held in April were
as shown below :—
