                  (v) HOSPITALS AND DISPENSARIES.

11. Table V.—As in the previous year, there were two Veterinary Dis-
pensaries in the province during the year under report. The number of cases
treated was 4,060 as against 3,019 in the previous year. Medicines and advice
were given to the owners of 431 animals not brought to the dispensaries as
against 513 in the previous year. Three equines and seven other animals
were castrated as against 5 equines and 8 other animals in the previous year.

12. Ajmer Veterinary Hospital.—Khan Sahib Abdul Haq held charge
throughout the year. The number of animals treated at this hospital was
3,099 (693 in-patients and 2,406 out-patients) as against 2,040 (775 in-patients
and 1,265 out-patients) treated in the previous year. Medicines and advice
were given to the owners of 309 animals not brought to the dispensary, as
against 228 in the previous year. Three equines and 7 other animals were
castrated as against 5 equines and 8 other animals in the previous year.

13. Beawar Veterinary Hospital.—Mr. Kabul Singh held charge throughout
the year, with the exception of 2 months when the Veterinary Assistant
Surgeon was under suspension and the compounder looked after the dispensary.
The control of the dispensary was transferred to the District Local Board,
Ajmer-Merwara, with effect from the 1st October 1930.

The number of animals treated at this hospital was 961 (36 in-patients and
925 out-patients) as against 979 (78 in-patients and 901 out-patients) treated
in the previous year. The cause of decrease in the number of animals treated
this year is due to the fact that there was no qualified Veterinary Assistant
Surgeon in charge of the hospital for two months. No castrations were per-
formed during the year.
