Excuis the not closing thairof, becaus I wret it in the Tolbuith.

221. Right honorable, being informed that the Maister of Abercorne is with yow,
these are to desyre yow to request him to give his consent that Mr. Johne Law
may be admitted to the ministrie of the Kirk of Neilstoune, to be ane helper
to his father. The presbyterie and paroehoneris will be well content. "Which
trusting ye will doe, I commend yow to God, and restis,
Your loving freind to serve yow,
Ja. Glasgow.
Glasgow, 30 December 1631.

the Laird of Nether Pollock,— These.
Sir Alexander Hamilton, Knight, fifth Son of James first Earl of Abercorn,
to Sir John Maxwell of Pollok, [30 November] 1632.
222. Right worshipfull Sir, I hewe newer had the happines to hewe the okasioune
of ane some bearer befor this, that I might hewe shon wnto your worship our
sawe arywell heare, wich I kno would hewe beane most acceptabille wnto you.
My Lord is weall. He is maried, and lies on of the fynest boyes in Ingland :
