"Smith, whofe heire was m. to Candifh," (MS. 3526), but
in the margin " Smith of Candifhe, in Suffolk." In the Harl.
MS. 1449, Smith of Cavendifh, Beverftone, Melford, and Bar-
ton, co. Suffolk, bears the fame arms and [untinclured) creft
quarterly with Brecknocke. Mr. Papworth affigns the fame
coat to Smith of JValfoken, co. Norfolk.
Variations.
Smith of Suffolk. Argent, a chevron between three
