Com.Kec.Glas. James of Westport died on the 22d
August 1625, as appears by his re-
gistered testament, wherein he appoints
his spouse, Janet Drummond, his only
executor.

1631. He had another charter of the
— Uvii. No. 8. lands of Balsyde in Linlithgowshire,
dated 2d August 1678. He was a com-
missioner of supply to the county of
Linlithgow in 1661.

whom he had issue, one son and six

James of Westport was succeeded in
the estate by his eldest daughter,

in 1674, Walter Sandilands, younger of" s '
Hilderston, whose father, William San-
dilands, was tutor to his nephew, John,
fifth Lord Torphichen. He was com-
monly styled Tutor of Ca'der.
Walter Sandilands, on his marriage,
assumed the name and arms of Hamil-
ton, by a deed of destination still in
force.
He was served heir-male and of pro-inq. Ret. Lin.
vision, of Mr William Sandilands of N
Hilderstoun, his father, in the dominical
lands of Drumcroee, &c. the lands and
town of Drumcroee, and the lands and
town of North and South Hilderstaines,
all in the co. of Linlithgow, 16th March
1672.
Anna Hamilton and Walter Sandi-
lands had issue :
1. Sir James, their heir.
2. Walter, who succeeded his brother.
