(45) John James Edward Hamilton, born nth July 1808; died v.p. 2nd
November 1847. He married, 7th April 1842, Favoretta, daughter of
Panton Corbett of Longnor Hall, Salop, who died 3rd January 1887,
leaving an only son : —
(46) Sir Edward Archibald Hamilton, second Baronet, born 26th January
1843. I n J 892 he succeeded his cousin (No. 43) as fourth Baronet of
that creation. He married, 28th May 1867, Mary, only daughter of
Joseph Gill of Trewern, Shropshire, and has issue : —
(a) Charles Edward Archibald Watkin Hamilton, born 10th
December 1876. Married, first, 18th December 1897,
Olga, only daughter of Admiral Adolphus Fitz George,
son of H.R.H. George, Duke of Cambridge (marriage
dissolved 1902), and has : —
(1) George Edward Archibald Augustus Fitz George
Hamilton, born 30th December 1898.
He married, second, November 1906, Algorta,
daughter of George Child of Widford, Herts.
(b) Thomas Sydney Perceval Hamilton, born 1st April 1881.

lymphad, sails furled sable. CREST : Out of a ducal coronet or an oak tree
proper, fructed or, traversed by a frame saw proper. MOTTO : " Sola

(47) Sir Claud Hamilton of Shawfield, Linlithgow, fifth son of Claud,
first Lord Paisley (No. 20), died 19th October 1614. He married Janet,
daughter and heiress of Sir Robert Hamilton of Leckprevick and Easter
Greenlees, and had issue : —
(a) Sir William (No. 48).
(b) Alexander Hamilton, died young.
(c) Robert Hamilton, died before 1657, leaving two sons : —

(48) Sir William Hamilton of Manor Elieston, Co. Tyrone, born about
1604 ; died 16th May 1662. He was served heir to his father 12th May
1632. He married, first, Elizabeth, daughter of Sir James Johnston of
that Ilk, and had : —
(a) Sir James (No. 49).
(b) William Hamilton of Leat, Co. Tyrone, who is said to have
married Mary Walkingshaw, and had issue.
He married, second, Beatrix Campbell, whose Will was proved 6th
July 1667. By her he had : —
(c) Claud (No. 50).
(d) Archibald Hamilton.
