the other teachers the class or classes to be specially taken
charge of by them.
37. The Head Teacher shall prepare for each class a Time
Table of Course of Studies, which shall be rigidly adhered to,
in order that no essential subject of instruction shall be
neglected, and also that evidence be afforded to the Governors
that the time is fairly distributed among the various subjects
taught. These time-tables are to be hung up in the different
Class-Rooms or attached to the different Roll-Books, and it
shall be one of the duties of the Inspector to ascertain whether
or not they are acted upon.
38. The Head Teachers shall from time to time, as they see
occasion, re-arrange the divisions of their Schools, in order that
the more apt and diligent of the Pupils may be advanced to a
higher division.
39. They shall direct the Assistant Teachers how to conduct
their different Divisions ; and have the power of requiring their
attendance for a reasonable time before and after School hours,
to assist in what they consider the necessary work of the School.
They shall be particidarly careful to see that the Assistants are
in attendance ten minutes before the regular hour of meeting ;
they shall likewise mark the Time-Book themselves, and see
that it is marked by the other parties in their Schools.
40. The Head Teacher shall arrange with the Sewing-
Mistress as to the hour at which each Class shall be taught in
her room.
41. In the School Register, according to the date of ad-
mission, the Head Teachers shall insert and number consecu-
tively the names and ages of the pupils, the names of the
parents or guardians, with their places of residence, the result
of their examination, and the class to which each pupil is
assigned. This Register shall be neatly and accurately kept by
the Head Teacher, posted up monthly, and transmitted in a
complete state to the Treasurer at the close of each Session in
July, for the inspection of the Governors. After the vacation
it shall be returned to the Teacher.
