of Ross with consent of the Canons of Ross To the Said
Walter Urquhart and his nearest and Lawfull heir for all the
days of their Life of Three Chalders twelve Bolls Victuall with
half Chirity five Wedders and 40 Shilling money to be paid
yearly out of the Quarters of the Teinds of the Paroch of
Cromarty pertaining to the Deanry of Ross dated November
1578.

37.  CONFIRMATION and RATIFICATION Thereof by James the
6th Dated at Halieruidhouse the penult Day of April 1585.

38.   CHARTER by Walter Urquhart Shirrif of Cromarty In
implement of a Contract of Marriage past betwixt him on the
one part and Hugh Ross of Kilravock as taking burden on
him for his Daughter Elizabeth Ross on the other part Of a
Croft of the Subchantors Manse and pertinents To the Said
Elizabeth Ross his future Spouse and heirs Male to be gotten
betwixt them But to take place only in the Event of the
Marriage being Solemnized. The Contract is dated Ult:
August 1579 And this Charter is dated 13th September and
3d December 1579 And Donald Adamson the Subchantor joins
in and Confirms it and his Seal has been appended.

39.  RATIFICATION by James the 6th of Severall Conveyances
of the Mansions of the Subchantors house of Ross Of the
house of the Rector of the Church of Avoch and others In
favour of Said Walter Urquhart and Elizabeth Ross his future
Spouse. This contains a precept of Seasine and is Dated
16 March 1591.

THERE are Severall other Charters and Seasins to this
Walter Urquhart Shirrif of Cromarty and Elizabeth Ross his
Spouse of the Deans Croft and Manse, The Rector of Avoch's
mansion house and others in the Years 1579, 83 and 85 but as
they are of no great moment are therefore here Omitted.

40.   COMMISSION directed to Monro of Tarrell and others
under the Quarter Seal for Serving Thomas Urquhart heir to
Henry Urquhart of Cromarty his father In the Lands wherein
he died last Vest. and Seased; It proceeds on the deliverance of
the Lords of Session upon a petition from Said Thomas Setting
