SWIMMING
Diving Championships
14. Each Service will nominate two representatives for the 1
metre springboard and two for the 5 metre firmboard competition.
Representatives may be the same for each event.
(a) Conditions
(i) 1
metre springboard
Four voluntary dives selected from the current A.S.A.
diving tables, the total tariff value of which must not
exceed 7.8. Each dive must have a different number in
the A.S.A. diving tables.
(ii)
Highboard,
5
metre
Four voluntary dives selected from the A.S.A. diving
tables, the total tariff value of which not to exceed 7.2.
Each dive must have a different number in the A.S.A.
diving tables.
(b) Scoring
In the above events the winner will score 6 points, the second
5 points, the third 4 points, the fourth 3 points, the fifth 2
points and the sixth 1 point. In the event of ties for any place
the points for each place will be added together and divided
by the number of competitors tying.
(c)
Officials
A referee and five judges will be appointed from the A.S.A.
lists. The championships sub-committee will invite qualified
service officials to take part and will request the A.S.A. diving
committee to appoint the remainder.
Two recorders will be appointed by the organising service.
15. Inter-Service diving medals will be awarded for first, second
and third places. In the event of a tie individuals concerned will receive
similar awards.
Water Polo Championships
16. Each service to play the other ones, a total of three matches
in all. Extra time not be played.
(a)
Order of matches :—
lst day—the two Services not responsible for the organisation
of the Championships.
2nd day—the organising Service to play the organising Service
for the previous year.
(b)
Each Service will nominate a referee from the A.S.A. list.
17. Inter-Service water polo medals will be awarded to the winning
team. In the event of a tie, teams concerned will receive similar
awards.
18. The perpetual challenge cup presented by Air Chief Marshal
Sir John Whitworth-Jones,
G.B.E., K.C.B.,
shall be held for one
year by the winners of the water polo competition.
19. The Buller Trophy and Water Polo Trophy are insured by the
C.S.S.A.
