3. Organization
The Association is sponsored by the Army Sports Control Board.
Within each Home Command and in Northern Ireland District, a
Branch of the Association is established to run the Association
Groups within that Command. There is no limit to the number of
Groups.
4. Formation of new Groups
Permission to establish a Group should first be addressed to the
appropriate Command Branch. If recommended by the Command
Branch, they will forward it with a full statement of the case to the
Executive Committee for their approval. No Group or Club shall
be accepted in the A.S.A. unless it shall be open to all ranks.
5. Membership
All ranks, including students at Welbeck College and Womens
Services, serving in the Army on Regular or National Service
engagements are entitled to become members of a Group of the
Association. Members of the Reserve Army may also apply for
membership of a Group.
Life Membership is open to all ranks who are serving, or who
have served, in the Active Army on a full-time engagement, and to
those serving on National Service engagements. Rules for Life
Membership are in Appendix " A ". Application forms for
Life Membership may be had on demand, from the Hon. Secretary.
All members of the A.S.A may wear the A.S.A. badge and tie.
6. Annual General Meeting
An Annual General Meeting shall be held each winter which
shall be open to all members of the A.S.A.

General Committee
The General Committee, the composition of which is given at
the head of these rules, will meet not less than once each year and
will be responsible for deciding the general policy of the Association.
8. Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall be appointed by the General
Committee annually.
In the absence of the Commodore the senior officer will take the
chair.
Three members, one of whom shall be the Commodore or Vice-
Commodore, shall form a quorum at an Executive Meeting. The
Commodore is empowered to call Executive Meetings as and when
required, and to co-opt any Member of the General Committee.
9. Management
The Executive Committee shall manage the day-to-day affairs of
the Association and have full power and authority over the use, dis-
position and investment of all funds.
The Executive Committee shall render annually to the General
Committee a report on the management of the affairs of the Associ-
ation, together with an audited statement of accounts.
