Note.
—The
Army, Boxing Association Blazer Badge (a Lion on
a Crown with Laurel Leaves each side in Gold on a Blue Background)
may be worn by anyone who has been awarded his Army Colours.
The Badge may be purchased at the individual's expense from the
stockist on production of a letter of authority from the Hon.
Secretary.
21. Amateur B.A.,
Novice, Intermediate and Open
Competitions
Serving Army Amateur boxers entering for competitions held
under Amateur B.A. rules. must enter according to the following
definitions :
" Novic&"—A boxer who has not won a Brigade or higher
Championship at any weight.
" INTERMEDIATE. "—A boxer who has not won a Command or
higher Championship at any weight.
" OPEN."—All amateurs are eligible.
22. Dress
Competitors shall box in a vest completely covering chest and
back, shorts should reach mid thigh position and light boots
or shoes. Swimming costumes are not permitted. No straps or sup-
port shall be worn outside the costume.
In hot climates, the discarding of vests is left to the discretion of
the local Association or Committee.
As a war-time measure only, the wearing of vests may be optional
in Army Boxing in this country.
23. Medical Officer
A Medical officer must be in attendance at every boxing Meeting.
Should circumstances make it impossible for a Medical Officer to
be present in the boxing hall he must be available for quick response
to an urgent call, i.e. he must be within 5 minutes reach of the boxing
hall. A stretcher and medical appliances must be at hand.
24. Definition of an Army Novice
The following definition was agreed to and approved by the
I.S.B.A. for the Army. There is no obligation on the parts of
Commands to adhere to this definition, if they desire to run their
own competitions under a different definition.
NovicEs (All Ranks)
A boxer is considered a novice unless he :
(i) Has boxed in any Army or Amateur Championship at
home or abroad.
(ii) Has boxed in or represented his Unit, other than a
Regimental Depot, in any class or kind of Individual or
,
Team Boxing Tournament. This does not include winners
of Regimental Novices Competitions or friendly matches
between two units.
(iii) Has boxed professionally.
(iv) Has ever won a civilian competition, or boxed in an
exhibition or contest.
(v) Has boxed in the Army Junior Individual Championships,
