(iii) If a rider is disqualified under para

(a)(iii)(b) then the
race shall be restarted with the other two riders starting
from their original positions unless one rider has already
been caught before the stoppage.
(iv) Directly a rider is caught he shall leave the track. Failure
to do this shall result in disqualification. A , rider shall
be considered caught when the front wheel of the rear rider
is in a position to touch the rear wheel of the leading rider.
(v) If a rider crashed due to a puncture or mechanical defect
before the last lap the rules contained in paras.

(b)(iii)
shall apply.
(vi) If after a crash a rider is unable to resume, the race shall be
restarted as in para.

(b)(iii).
No points shall be awarded
to the absent rider.

Metres
Team
Pursuit.
The team pursuit championship
shall consist of one race over
4,000
metres. Four riders from each
service shall compete. The teams shall start at equal distances apart.
(i) Six points shall be awarded to the team placed first, four
points to the second team, and two points to the third
team.
(ii) A team shall be said to finish when the. front wheel of the
third man of the team crosses the finishing line.
(iii) No re-runs shall be allowed.
(iv) Directly a team is caught the riders of that team shall leave
the track. Failure by any member of the team to do this
shall result in the disqualification of that team. A team
shall be said to be caught when the front wheel of the
leading rider of the rear team is in a position to touch the
rear wheel of the rear rider of the leading team.
(d) 5 Miles Point-to-Point.
The point-to-point championship
shall consist of one race over five miles. The six riders from each
service who have taken part in the previous championship race shall
compete. If, however, owing to injuries sustained in a crash, any
of these are unable to ride then reserves may be substituted up to a
maximum of two. Under no circumstances shall other substitutions
be made.
(i) Six points shall be awarded to the team obtaining the
highest number of race points, four points to the team with
the second highest number of `race points and two points
to the team with the lowest number of race points.
(ii) Race points shall be allocated as follows
(a) No points on completion of first lap.
(b) Points of three, two and one shall be allocated to the
riders placed first, second and third respectively at the
end of each succeeding lap, except the last, when double
points shall be given.
(iii) At the conclusion of the race the points obtained by the
riders shall be totalled and team placings shall be decided
as in para.
