| Description | There is a paddock enclosed by a short, crude fence in the middle of the photograph. This butts up against a narrow river which has a fast flowing weir further up its banks. There are five soldiers sitting, relaxed, with their jackets off round the edge of the paddock- two of them are reading newspapers. The smallest cavalry unit was four horses and four men. This meant that if fighting dismounted, one man could hold the horses, four being the maximum possible, whilst the other three fought on.
