| Description | Officers sit round a table in their rest billets. They all look happy and relaxed as they pose for the camera. On the table in front of them are bottles of alcohol. There are two maps pinned up on the wall behind them. This scene provides a sharp contrast to the conditions the men suffered while at the Front. Whilst scenes such as this were commonly used as propaganda, intended to reassure those at home, they also manage to provide an insight into the different experiences of war.
