The Crossag Bridge is called, in one edition of the
Chronicon MannicB, Crosyvor (Krossa-vorr), ' Weir
Cross.' This bridge spans the Silverburn stream
close by Rushen Abbey, and it is quite possible
that the monks had both a weir as well as a cross
there. [Skerryvore, Ireland.]
porp (N), * a hamlet, village ;' in Northop (Nor^r-porp),
'The North Village.' [Nythorp, Denmark;
NoRTHORPE, Lincolnshire.]
