THE AGED BARD S WISH.
THE AGED BARD'S WISH.
I.
! lay me near the brooks which move
So gently near the spreading tree,
To shade my languid head, above ;
And thou, Sun ! be kind to me !
II.
Ill tranquil rest I'll think or dream,
While zephyrs fan my bank of flowers :
My feet laved by the wand 'ring stream
That o'er the plain serenely pours.
III.
The primrose pale, of grateful hue,
The daisy, and the eahie fair,
Shall deck my hOlock, green with dew ;
Inclin'd at ease, I'll ponder there.
