sonnes.
Certains groupes formés soit de deux consonnes
identiques, soit de deux consonnes différentes, se sim-
plifient dans la prononciation comme dans l'ortho-
graphe.
bhbh > b (h) : derbrathair « frère » pour derb-brathair.
rc^c : connairc, connaic « il vit ».
kl ^11: aille u plus beau » v. irl. dildiii, accallam
(( conversation )) v. irl. accaldam.
nd, nn > n : ané u hier », indiii, iniii « aujour-
d'hui » v. irl. indé, indiu.
mb, mm >■ m: cimhid « captif» cimid, imbe, ime
« autour de lui », imbret u ils exercent », imred « il a été
exercé ». Cf. i mbarach, i marach « demain », mais
mb > b dans ba = imba u autour de son ».
In > II: comallad « accomplissement » v. irl.
