The ftalk is crouded with ftrait unequal prickles :
the leaves are pinnated with nine fmall roundifh
Foliola : the flowers are creanvcolor'd, and the
fruit black when ripe : the footllalks of the
leaves and flowers often vary without prickles.
The variegated rofe mentioned by Sibbald^ as
growing upon a hill at his Ciphian farm, is only
a variety of this, ^'id. Scot, illufi, /. 2.

This is arm'd with but few prickles, and the leaves
are larger than the preceding, and not fo round r
the flowers are white, and grow feveral together,
fo as to form a kind of umbel.
