adjedive as GermamiSy Romanus, Battavus,
with all general names of nations, that are^
always taken as fuch, and never once as a
fubftantive, except when fuch adjedlives
fupply the places of fubjundives (with fub-
ilantives underftood) which agree with them
in gender, number, and cafe : e. g. patria^
