Note, thaty"at the beginning of a word, after an euphonic /, is lilcnt;

4. Sb^ before vowels, founds as b alone, and the / is filcnt ; Jhc'id c,

N. B. Thatyis the only mutable confonant that takes another mu-
table after it. It may be further noticed, that sb^ff>,fd,ft,fc^ ^^<^fSt
are fometimes written the one for the other, or ufed indifferently ;
but, as b, J, and g, when joined to an f, have a fofter found than the
other, care fhould be taken, when to ufe the one and when the other.
