Some individuals of the Society, for whom the Author en-
tertains a high and juft regard, exprefled a wifli that a Coun-
ter part, or EngHfti and Gailic Vocabulary might be added,
deeming it neceflary to complete the work. This was not his
original defign ; thinking it, however, his duty to comply
with their defire he, already has commenced the feledion and
arrangement ; and if this performance meets with encou-
ragement, the fecond part will in due time come forward. In
the mean while, he embraces this occafion of exprefling his
warm and grateful acknowledgements to that Society for the
honour they have done him, the favours they have conferred
upon him ; and if this performance meets their approbation, he
will confider the trouble of compiling it fully and abundantly
rewarded.
