The Societif for Literary Pmids, can receive

the munificence of their conduct by me, de-
mands of me, as a debt of honour, which I
cannot Avithhold, that I should mark to the
ΛVorld so beneficent a system of liberality as
theirs. I have received, as an encourage-
ment of this ΛVork, and of the Λvriter, two
successive donations from them, in actual
payments, conferred upon me by the unani-
mous vote of their conmiittccs, and recom-
mended by the most obliging curtesy of man-
ners, in their Secretary's letters to me.^ —
Wherever that society is knoΛvn, and where
its good ofiices have been felt, in blessings
